Jupiter Crystal Power, Make Up

This is the final make-up command Makoto uses to become Sailor Jupiter, ranking above her earlier calls. It threads through nearly every continuity, from print to the animated series, and its power source depends on the medium: the Jupiter Crystal in the manga and Crystal, and the Crystal Change Rod in the 90s anime. The phrase gates access to both her Super and Eternal states.

In the television version the change opens with a green orb bearing the Jupiter sign ringed by oak leaves. Makoto lifts the rod, the crystal locks onto it, and her nails brighten to lime green as the planet's symbol whirls. She then spins while ribbons of green current pour from the rod, the energy tightening into rings around her body before a flash leaves her dressed in her Super Sailor outfit, ending on her signature pose. The manga and Crystal treat the phrase as her final make-up call, bound to the Jupiter Crystal rather than the rod.

Makoto Kino is the sole user. She first speaks the words in Act 42 of the manga after Guardian Jupiter, her Sailor Power Guardian, hands her the Jupiter Crystal and the Jupiter Oak Evolution attack while Hawk's Eye and the Amazoness Quartet close in. The chant first restores her Super form and later unlocks her Eternal form once she strengthens Sailor Moon's Holy Moon Chalice with the might of Io Castle. In the anime she receives the Crystal Change Rod from Pegasus, debuting the upgraded change on the way to Super Sailor Jupiter.
