Crescent Moon Cutter

Item

The Crescent Moon Cutter is a throwing weapon unique to the live-action Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, given to Sailor V by Artemis. She hurls it to disarm, disorient, and slice, wielding it much like the roses Tuxedo Mask throws in the 1990s anime.

Overview

Appearing only in the live-action Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, this item belongs to Sailor V. It is an offensive tool she debuts in the opening act, one she can carry whether she is fighting as Sailor V or later as Sailor Venus.

Function

Sailor V throws the Cutter to stagger or halt her foes, and she can also use it to knock an object loose from an enemy's grip, as when she strips Cutie Kenko of his sword. Thrown like a boomerang, it returns to her and can shear through objects, including a case of jewels that Tuxedo Mask tries to steal. Although its look somewhat recalls the compact Sailor V carries in the manga, it lacks that item's inner mirror and shares none of its functions. Her reliance on it faded after her early arc, and in time she stopped using it altogether.
