Super Computer

The Super Computer is a compact supercomputer belonging to Sailor Mercury. Luna handed it to her, and it lets Mercury read her environment and process information on the spot, an ability that pays off often in combat. In the manga it debuts in Act 3, giving her the means to untangle intricate scientific puzzles with ease and to pinpoint an opponent's vulnerabilities. Because Mercury is the sharpest mind on the Sailor team, the device suits her perfectly.

Luna passed the machine to Mercury in the anime's ninth episode, and it examines foes or any object that needs study, letting her locate an enemy's soft spot. She sometimes runs it together with her Mercury Visor. During the first season's climactic fight, Ami turned it against the DD Girls, mapping out their trap and tracing the origin of their illusions. To break those illusions she wielded the computer itself as a blunt weapon, smashing it into the lead Girl's forehead jewel; the strike cracked the gem but almost certainly wrecked the device as well. It nonetheless resurfaced in later seasons and in the Sailor Moon R film, where Ami relied on it to guide the team safely past the Xenian Flowers scattered across the asteroid.

Sailor Mercury is the machine's only user. When Luna first delivered it she admitted she had weighed handing it to Usagi instead, even though it already bore Mercury's planetary emblem, remarking she could have reworked its design. How the device came back after its destruction in the first finale is never explained; one possibility is that it mended itself when Luna revived the cast after the second season. As a running joke, the anime once flashed a message on its screen nodding to the film RoboCop, and the display occasionally showed German text alongside various equations.
