The escort convoy guarding the Amo family runs headlong into Higuchi, an assassin who turns the highway into a demolition derby. What first looks like a crushing loss becomes a trap sprung by Nagumo, and a motorcycle duel decides whether Sakamoto's crew can shake their pursuers and slip away.
Higuchi opens his assault by slamming his vehicle into the car Sakamoto is driving, setting off a massive blast that appears to sweep Ai and Konomi away with him. The trick, however, belongs to Sakamoto's side. Nagumo has taken Ai's place in disguise, and he uses the collision to bury a blade in their attacker.
Enraged, Higuchi answers with a strike powerful enough to launch Nagumo straight into the vehicle driven by his accomplice. Akao and Sakamoto give chase aboard a motorcycle, trading blows until both aggressors are forced to break off. With the road finally clear, Kindaka rolls up in a replacement car, and the group piles in to flee the scene.
Higuchi's ramming attack triggers an explosion that seems to eliminate the mother and daughter. Nagumo's impersonation is exposed the instant he stabs Higuchi amid the chaos. A running motorcycle brawl drives Higuchi and his partner off, and Kindaka's arrival gives everyone a way to escape.
The installment carries the Japanese title Ka Cheisu and runs twenty-one pages inside Volume 13. It belongs to Taro Sakamoto's Past Arc and places Sakamoto alone on its cover. Its first printing landed in issue 18 of 2023.
