Westalis Intelligence

Westalis Intelligence serves as the spy agency of the western nation in SPY x FAMILY, though most of its internal structure never appears on the page. What the series shows is an organization overseeing several divisions and intelligence activities, with attention overwhelmingly directed at operations concerning neighboring Ostania. It stands apart from the Westalis military's own Army Intelligence branch, which recruited a young Loid Forger amid the second East-West war, before he transferred into WISE once that division came into being.

The agency's flagship arm is WISE, formally the Eastern-Focused Division, established after the second war ended and dedicated to holding the uneasy peace together through covert action inside Ostania, in direct opposition to the SSS. A Communications Division also exists, apparently responsible for message traffic and intelligence transmission, and it is remembered chiefly for employing Winston Wheeler. Wheeler worked a mission alongside Twilight in Westalis before the latter's Ostania posting, and years later stood revealed as a deep-cover operative of Ostania's intelligence apparatus who had spent a long stretch bleeding western secrets to the East from inside headquarters, one of the agency's worst known breaches.

An unnamed director and his secretary run affairs from Westalis. In the field, Sylvia Sherwood handles the Ostanian network, with Loid Forger and Fiona Frost operating under the codenames Twilight and Nightfall. Winston Wheeler, the Communications Division man, sits in custody following his exposure, while Major Depple of Army Intelligence, once a candidate for Operation Strix, appears in SPY x FAMILY CODE: White. The headquarters building takes its look from the real SIS Building that houses Britain's MI6.
