Clash

Clash serves Squalo throughout Vento Aureo and takes the shape of a mechanical shark, a pair of eyes set on either side of its head and one larger eye between them. Its bulk changes to fit whatever pool of liquid it currently inhabits. Araki modeled it on the ostracoderm, a long-extinct armored fish. Color pages render it gray in the manga and coppery in the anime, always with red side eyes and a yellow central one. Squalo steers it precisely from a distance, and though the Stand is delicate, it makes a lethal ambusher by striking from inside water and tearing off pieces of its prey.

As a fish, Clash cannot survive outside liquid and can only lunge briefly into the air to bite. Its signature trick is instant teleportation between bodies of liquid: from wherever it sits, it can flash into any nearby pool large enough to hold it, and it has surfaced in hot soup, wine, seawater, and even the tears Narancia sheds. It treats shallow liquid as if it had real depth, diving in and rising out freely, and it can haul anything or anyone with it between pools, which is how it drags Giorno away through a small puddle from a leaking pipe. Its limits are clear, though: it cannot enter a sealed container of liquid, cannot jump more than two or three meters at a time, and warps more sluggishly once wounded. Its size always matches its host liquid, no bigger than a small fish in a wine glass, cat-sized in a shallow puddle, and larger than a canoe in one of Venice's canals.

Squalo is the only user, working alongside his partner Tiziano to hunt Bruno Bucciarati's group, and he directs Clash from safety to strike at Narancia and Giorno through whatever water lies close at hand.
