Diver Down

Diver Down serves Narciso Anasui throughout Stone Ocean, and the story hints he awakened it before his imprisonment. It presents as a humanoid dressed in a stylized suit of scuba equipment, its surface marked by a distinctive D-shaped emblem, and it keeps a blue-green coloring wherever it appears.

At close quarters the Stand hits hard enough to lop off a head with one chop, yet its real value lies in a toolbox of tricks that turn the surroundings to Anasui's benefit, making it a dependable partner in a brawl rather than a pure slugger.

Its first displayed trick is banking power. When Diver Down lands a punch or kick on a surface, the shock of that impact is packed away inside the object, and whenever Anasui chooses, the stored energy erupts back out as the matching limb striking from within. He can also lodge the Stand inside a person's body so that any harm they take is rerouted into Diver Down instead, shielding them, and it can even stand in for a missing limb.

The signature power is restructuring: the Stand slips through solid matter and then reworks whatever it enters from the inside out. Diving into an object or body, it can tear the internal makeup apart or reassemble it fresh, and it even reaches into other Stands, as when Anasui fused a frog's brain into Yo-Yo Ma. That lets him fashion elaborate contraptions like spring traps, reroute a bottle's neck along its side, or twist bone and muscle into coils. He can also pluck out things too fused to cut, such as parasitic plants growing in Jolyne, or bury foreign material inside a body.

Narciso Anasui is the sole wielder, a prisoner and admirer of Jolyne Cujoh who leans on the Stand's phasing and reshaping to solve problems that raw force could not. His creativity with the storage and restructuring powers repeatedly turns the environment and even his own body into an asset during the group's struggles.
