Earth Wind and Fire

Earth Wind and Fire belongs to Mikitaka Hazekura, a character whose murky background leaves its very classification in doubt. It has no independent body of its own; like other powers that grant abilities straight to a person, it stays fused to Mikitaka himself rather than manifesting as a separate figure.

The lingering question of whether it qualifies as a true Stand comes down to one detail. Stand users can always perceive other Stands, yet when Josuke tests Mikitaka with Crazy Diamond, Mikitaka shows no sign of seeing it. If he genuinely cannot, then his power falls outside the usual definition, and the author has kept that ambiguity deliberate.

The core trick is a harmless form of transformation. Mikitaka breaks his body down into a mass of thin strips made of some unknown material, then reassembles those strips into whatever object he pictures, copying its look, its heft, and even its surface feel. He can divide himself partway through, splitting into two to become a matching pair of sneakers, and he may reverse the change only partly if he wishes.

Whatever he becomes, he inherits its traits: a hand shaped into an ice cream cone turns cold, and a body reshaped into binoculars lets him study distant things. His mimicry, however, runs into hard limits. He cannot form working machinery or anything demanding more force than his own frame provides. He regards every human face as identical, so disguising himself as a specific person fails. He needs an exact mental image, and lacking one produces absurd results, such as morphing into a die far larger than any real one. His flesh keeps its weaknesses too, so being tossed around as dice sickens him until he vomits and drops the act. Focus is essential; a sudden fright, like a siren, scatters his control and forces him back to his original shape.

One curious advantage is that Earth Wind and Fire can pool its strength with someone else's. When Mikitaka turned into footwear for Josuke, he observed that the two of them combined were what let them race along so quickly.

Mikitaka Hazekura is the sole wielder. The greatest weakness of the ability is not technical but personal: his sheer ignorance of Earth and human customs means he has no idea how to behave once transformed, and his oddball nature repeatedly makes the disguise look suspicious. The power's potential is real, but Mikitaka's eccentricity keeps blunting it.
