Hey Ya!

Hey Ya! is the Stand of Pocoloco in Steel Ball Run, one of the rare Sentient Stands and a Close-Range type with no combat use whatsoever. Roughly humanoid, its head resembles an upturned bucket crowned with three concentric rings and set with mismatched eyeholes, while a collar of small hollow cylinders wreathes it and a line of short nails pierces its lips. The colored manga tints it light brown. In look and in its talkative, back-riding nature it strongly recalls Cheap Trick, its apparent counterpart in the main timeline, albeit with an older, cruder style.

The Stand cannot fight and does little beyond lifting its user's spirits with warm encouragement and the occasional tip. It lingers around Pocoloco, whispering advice and urging him to seize his own good fortune, its favorite refrain being that luck stands with him whether or not that is actually so. Contrary to a common assumption, it does not raise his luck at all; it simply keeps him upbeat and confident. It does seem to hold a sliver of foresight, once warning Pocoloco that he was not meant to fall from his horse yet, but that glimpse belongs to the Stand alone and grants Pocoloco no vision of the future himself. When he trusts its guidance and acts on it, a run of lucky breaks tends to follow, whether by his own remarkable fortune or sheer coincidence.

Pocoloco is the only user of Hey Ya!, and the Stand behaves toward him like an ever-supportive coach, if a slightly pushy one, wanting only his success. Its steady cheering proves motivation enough to carry him all the way to winning the Steel Ball Run race, a fitting outcome for a Stand born from his extraordinary luck rather than any inciting accident.
