Hierophant Green

Wielded by Noriaki Kakyoin throughout Stardust Crusaders, Hierophant Green holds the distinction of being the earliest Long-Distance Stand to appear in the saga, and Kakyoin has carried it since birth. It looks like an athletic humanoid with robotic eyes and legs and a light-colored shell over veiny skin, standing just a bit taller than its user, but its genuine form is a long lattice of tentacle-like coils. Its appendages glow whenever it readies an attack. Green in every appearance, as its name promises, it takes the tarot card The Hierophant, and it shows no personality of its own, obeying Kakyoin without question and even speaking on his behalf.

Since its real shape is a mass of linked membranes rather than a body, the Stand can unravel into many long strands and put them to varied use: knotting them into ropes, spreading them thin to dodge blows without hurting Kakyoin, or weaving a net of near-invisible threads that senses an enemy's every move and lashes out on its own or at command. Snapping a single strand leaves Kakyoin unharmed, though cutting enough of them or striking the core will wound him. It can also slither its coils inside another person's body for total puppet-like control, and if it wishes it can wreck the host's airway and organs as it withdraws, with no safe way to pull it free. Its deadliest technique is Emerald Splash, in which it stores energy until it shines bright green, then unleashes a spray of gem-shaped blasts. The barrage scatters like buckshot with great speed and force, yet seems to cost the Stand little, though a powerful foe like Star Platinum or a vampire can swat it aside.

Noriaki Kakyoin is the sole owner of Hierophant Green. While under DIO's control in his debut chapters he calls it Hierophant Emerald, possibly its original name, and it is only rechristened Hierophant Green once the Joestar group's Stands are formally introduced.
