Tomb of the Boom

Tomb of the Boom is a fairly small Stand with a loosely humanoid upper body, and each of its three versions looks markedly different from the others. All share a long, drawn-out face with a lengthy tongue trailing from a small mouth, an outline that recalls a giant anteater. On the second and third versions the top of the head opens to reveal an eye-shaped object within, while the first is instead hooded by metallic bars. Their lips differ too: thick and puckered on the first, ever-smiling on the second, ringed and multi-layered on the third. Every version bears long, sharp fingers, the third having four per hand rather than five, and the second's lower half is a crablike mass of human legs, hinting at its several users. In the colored manga the Stand is dark purple.

The core of Tomb of the Boom is magnetism and mastery over metal, enough to shatter one of Gyro's Steel Balls before it lands. Each brother can turn a person into a magnet with a touch, even by way of a few drops of blood. Once magnetized, every nearby metal object rushes toward the victim and sinks into the flesh, tearing crippling wounds, and magnetized people also pull on one another. Distance from the family weakens the effect, yet close proximity between victims grows so fierce that their bodies rip themselves apart, and the danger scales with the number of affected people packed together.

The three versions specialize further. Benjamin, wielding the first, lets metal sink into his skin to mimic another person's face or sprouts hidden metal blades for surprise strikes, and his Stand can even deflect revolver rounds. Andre, the strongest by Benjamin's account, drives the second and can magnetize many targets at once so that they and the surrounding metal drag toward each other with body-rending force. L.A., behind the third, commands iron sand to bind his victims' limbs and can also draw the iron in a person's blood outward to drain them dry.

The Boom Boom Family shares Tomb of the Boom, split across Benjamin, Andre, and L.A. Boom Boom, who hunt Gyro and Johnny during Steel Ball Run. The Stand went unnamed in the manga and was later titled in the JOJOVELLER Stand Encyclopedia.
