Anne

Anne is a girl of roughly eleven or twelve, standing at an ordinary height with a slim to moderate frame. Freckles dot her face beneath a small, slightly turned-up nose, and her dark hair grows long. Overalls over a light shirt make up her usual outfit. She turns up at first pretending to be a boy under a cap, but the disguise falls away and the hat is tossed once the group learns she is a girl.

At first meeting, Anne comes across as a hot-tempered, cheeky handful, bristling when Jotaro gropes her chest to confirm her sex. Bluffing as a ruthless killer, she once brandished a single switchblade at all five members of the group as they debated her fate. She talks constantly, wearing on the crusaders during a long car ride, and she carries a reckless streak of courage, having bolted from home to see the world and even tried to swim to a shoreline barely visible on the horizon.

That bravado collapses against actual Stands. As Jotaro warns, she mostly endangers everyone, most glaringly during the fight with ZZ, where she freezes and screams for rescue rather than use the time she has to flee. Vain about her looks despite only Forever ever fancying her, she fishes for the crusaders' attention by remarking on how she is growing up, and she gradually falls for Jotaro, charmed by his looks and cool attitude.

Convinced that dressing as a boy would let her wander freely, Anne fled home before adolescence forced her into a bra and, by her own logic, ruined the disguise. She first surfaces as a stowaway on the cruise ship hijacked by the Impostor Captain Tennille, where a sailor catches her and threatens the police. After lying about meeting her father in Hong Kong, she leaps overboard to swim ashore, nearly falls to a shark, and is grudgingly rescued by Jotaro, the moment that exposes her as a girl. Once the impostor's cover is blown he takes her hostage, and Kakyoin pulls her to safety after Jotaro is dragged into the sea.

Aboard Forever's Stand-ship Strength she is cornered mid-shower by the lustful orangutan and saved again by Jotaro. She refuses to part with the group at Singapore, where Rubber Soul impersonates Kakyoin and she senses something off about him. The crusaders try leaving her behind, but Polnareff guesses she is an orphan and misses her, and she soon reappears having stowed away on their train. She resurfaces once more right before ZZ's assault, admitting she ran from her parents in Hong Kong; when the attack comes she trips and screams for help rather than run, earning a scolding even as Jotaro protects her. In the end Joseph persuades her to stop running and return home, explaining Holy Kujo's plight, and she leaves cheering for Jotaro to save his mother.

Behind the scenes, the character went unnamed in the manga, tagged only as the runaway girl, and Araki supplied the name Anne for the anime. He had once envisioned a far bigger part for her, perhaps even her own Stand, but his editors objected to a young girl joining the fights, so he wrote her out rather than keep a companion who could not defend herself.
