Ayana Hirose

Ayana keeps her dark hair short at shoulder length, with bangs that curl outward and thin eyebrows, a look Tamami Kobayashi finds cute. Her outfits shift with the scene: a tank top with a belt, skirt, and slippers at first, then her hair pulled into a ponytail over a tank top and pants at home, and a collarless buttoned blouse with a skirt and high heels when out with her mother.

Devoted to her brother, Ayana calls him Ko-chan just as their mother does and constantly checks whether he needs anything. She is polite and warm, serving tea to guests and smiling when she meets Koichi's friends, with a playful side that teases him for wandering around in his underwear. Tamami reads her as timid, noting how she apologized over and over, flustered, after being made to spill tea on him.

Ayana becomes entangled in Tamami Kobayashi's scheme against her family. After he cons his way into their home pretending to return money Koichi supposedly dropped, she serves him tea, only for Tamami to jostle her so the cup spills on his hand; his exaggerated reaction leaves her apologizing, and her guilt makes The Lock manifest on her chest. When she walks in on Tamami bleeding with a knife in Koichi's hand, unaware he cut himself to frame her brother, the Lock swells with her guilt until she collapses under its weight, and she is only freed once Koichi restores their mother's faith and Tamami gives up.

In lighter moments she catches Koichi bolting from the washroom in nothing but his boxers and giggles about it to a friend on the phone. Later, out shopping with her mother, she runs into Koichi and Rohan Kishibe and joins them on a trip to the Kameyu Department Store, her presence unwittingly convincing Yukako Yamagishi that luck is against her plan to be alone with Koichi.
