Blackmore

Blackmore stands around or a little above average height with a middling build. He drapes himself in a black hooded poncho ringed by two rows of small metal loops down the chest and along the sleeves, and his pale ponytail is fed out through the top of the hood. Beneath it, close-fitting light garments cover his arms almost to the hands, and his one-piece trousers and boots carry a motif that echoes half of a taijitu.

An efficient killer, Blackmore serves Funny Valentine with total conviction, believing in both the man and his cause. He usually comes across as placid, speaking slowly and reacting to little, yet the hunt for a Corpse Part thrills him, and he grows especially animated when he senses the presence of the Saint. His loyalty briefly wavers when he is tempted to keep a Corpse Part for himself, but a gunshot snaps him back to the belief that Valentine alone deserves it.

Behind the calm sits a sharp analytical mind that lets him trace an intruder and expose Lucy Steel from scattered clues. He treats murder coldly, cutting down Mountain Tim without pause and ready to treat Lucy and the heroes no differently. A verbal habit marks him out as well: he mutters a slurred apology, a casual bend of "excuse me," even to his own employer and president.

Introduced as one of Valentine's most trusted men and a gifted assassin, Blackmore is charged with retrieving the Corpse Parts already gathered by Johnny and Gyro. His Stand, Catch the Rainbow, hands him command over falling rain: he can freeze the drops in place, turn them into hazards or a footpath through the air, and shift parts of his body or his whole self along their touch.

Set loose to find the saboteur inside Valentine's operation, he corners Mountain Tim after Tim helps Lucy Steel flee. He takes a bullet but wins the Stand duel and executes Tim, then ambushes the protagonists and overwhelms them with his rain tricks, carrying off the Corpse Parts and Lucy. While he is on the phone with Valentine, distracted by a vision of the Saint, Lucy shoots him with a hidden pistol.

Mortally wounded, Blackmore clings to life by sealing his injuries with rain drawn up through his Stand and pursues the group into another clash. Once his weakness is uncovered and he is beaten, his own power decides his fate; when the rain finally stops, nothing holds his blood in and he bleeds out.
