Boingo

Boingo is a small boy of unremarkable build whose oversized mouth and towering afro, kept under a brimless cap with a few loose strands escaping, make him hard to miss. He layers a bright shirt and trousers under shorts, a jacket, and a coat, finished with plain shoes.

Painfully shy and withdrawn, Boingo prefers to hang back and let others take the lead, steering first his brother Oingo, then Hol Horse, from a hiding spot while he watches. His timidity, worsened by a stutter, owes partly to his young age and to the fact that his Stand, Tohth, is a mere book that is useless in a straight fight. He is truly at ease only around Oingo, to whom he is deeply attached.

For all his meekness, he trusts Tohth completely, insisting its forecasts always come true no matter how strangely they read. As a servant of DIO, flashes of malice show through: he grins and laughs when the book foretells the heroes' deaths and thinks nothing of robbing a man. Late on he wishes to turn his gift toward good so people will love the brothers more, but an attack by Iggy cuts that change short and drives him back into his shell.

Tohth manifests as an oversized comic book named after the Oingo Boingo brothers, and whatever it depicts is destined to happen; not even Boingo can steer the images it shows. Counted among the Egypt 9 Glory Gods, Boingo uses it to help ambush the Joestar Group during their journey through Egypt.

Working with Oingo, Boingo reads that the pair are meant to poison the group's tea, and he watches from the shadows as his brother sets the scheme in motion. A string of accidents keeps derailing the prophecy, and Oingo ends up disguising himself as Jotaro, only to step on the orange-shaped bomb he had planted and blow apart his own face. Boingo resolves to finish the job alone, but thugs Oingo had provoked earlier beat both brothers and land them in the hospital.

Once out, Boingo is abducted by Hol Horse, who presses him into a new partnership to avenge Oingo. Hidden under a crate, Boingo directs Hol Horse using Tohth's predictions, which prove uncannily accurate. Their final plan has Hol Horse funnel his bullets through a set of pipes at noon, yet his watch runs a few minutes off, and the shots loop back through the very holes drawn in the comic and strike him instead. When Boingo then tries to reform and kicks his crate aside, it clips Iggy, who mauls him and leaves him more timid than ever. Years later, in the spin-off Crazy Diamond's Demonic Heartbreak, he journeys alongside Hol Horse to Morioh.
