Carne

Heavyset in build, Carne wears his hair in a slanted crewcut. His face is startling: he has no true nose, only a pair of nostrils, dark rings shadow his eyes, and where ears should sit there are merely two openings on the sides of his skull. A faint grin usually rests on his lips, giving way to a frown only when he is hurt or dying, while his tightly shrunken pupils stare fixedly ahead, lending him a menacing air. He dresses in a stylized dark jumpsuit fitted with shoulder pads, loose open-crotch trousers, and a wide headband marked with the same emblems that decorate Bucciarati's suit. Coloring shifts between versions: the digitally colored manga gives him a purple suit and gloves with brown pads and cream trousers, whereas the anime dresses him in black with gray pads, white trousers, and a purple band bearing orange symbols.

Carne reveals almost nothing of himself while alive, though his readiness to die for Diavolo suggests real loyalty. Advancing on Team Bucciarati unarmed and wearing a confident smile, he seems to have been sent as a kind of living bomb. What little is known comes from the words his own Stand scrawled across the gang's aircraft, which paint a portrait shaped by abuse and hatred. The graffiti calls him a wretched figure who was exploited and cast aside like a worn-out rag, a man who died with loathing in his heart, and it declares that this loathing became the energy powering the Stand, an energy that only switched on after his death and that he never knew he carried.

The boss dispatches Carne to strike at Bucciarati's team, and he catches them at an airport as they attempt to seize a plane. He calls up his Stand, Notorious B.I.G, but Mista guns him down almost instantly. His death does not end the threat; the Stand lives on, sustained by his grudge, and once the group is airborne they begin noticing strange occurrences it causes. Fueled by its user's hate much like Ebony Devil, Notorious B.I.G only shows its true strength once Carne dies, transforming into a mindless, indestructible blob that lunges at the fastest-moving thing nearby and devours whatever it can to keep growing.
