Daiya Higashikata

Small and pretty, Daiya is a teenage girl whose black hair falls to her chin under eyebrow-level bangs, framing large, dark eyes. She likes to top her outfits with headwear sporting fake bear ears, and vertically striped thigh-highs are a regular part of her look.

At sixteen she is the baby of the Higashikata household, and a certain cuteness runs through everything about her, from the toy-like design of her Stand to her playful way of speaking and the childish possessiveness she shows over Josuke. She adores her spoiling, overprotective father and returns his affection warmly. Her infatuation with Josuke turns briefly territorial once she engages him in her game, but after her defeat it mellows into a gentle fondness; Josuke, meanwhile, leans on her wish to be liked in order to pry loose information about the household, though he does grow to regard her at least as a friend. Her sight is so poor that she can barely register light or read a page held right under her nose, yet she moves through the family home with remarkable independence.

The second daughter and last child of Norisuke IV and Kaato, Daiya fell as a toddler into the ground where the Wall Eyes now stand; her vision steadily worsened from that moment, but she gained California King Bed in exchange. Kaato went to prison while Daiya was far too young to remember her, so the girl grew up with no memory of her mother at all. When Josuke is first brought into the family, she quizzes him about a Mellotron and refuses any special treatment for her blindness, then rapidly falls for him. She turns her Stand on him to strip away his few memories and nearly succeeds, until she winds up standing on his shadow, which reverses the theft. Josuke later uses her to slip into a forbidden room and uncover a family tree tying Yoshikage Kira to the Higashikata line. Across later arcs she is liquefied by Tamaki Damo before he is beaten, reunites with a freed Kaato, is knocked out by Poor Tom's Ozon Baby, and watches in horror as the family unravels during the final crisis. After Josuke destroys Wonder of U, she calls him in to join the Higashikatas at the fruit parlor, where they accept him as one of their own.
