Doremifasolati Do

Classed among the Rock Animals, this creature stretches out into a long, grub-shaped form. Its head suggests a dog or bear whose tongue hangs perpetually loose, and carved channels run across the surface, the deepest ones sinking back from the eye sockets. Slabs of flat, rectangular rock make up the trunk, each etched with motifs that echo human arms; the plating shields it well and rolls along like the treads of a tank so it can travel below the surface.

A pair of stones sit to either flank, capped by rotating hands sculpted from rock, while a tail modeled after human legs lets the beast prop itself upright once it surfaces. The interior holds nothing, staying empty enough to double as a hidden cabin where a rider may shelter within the shell. Color pages render the body brown, the face and spinning hands pale with dark accents, and the lolling tongue a vivid red.

Very little cognition drives Doremifasolati Do, and it displays no distinct temperament. Its willingness to trail Urban Guerrilla and guard him from harm hints at rudimentary awareness and a measure of devotion, yet it has never been shown to speak. Observers suggest its diet consists of burrowing insects, roots, or perhaps the soil itself, and it explores by sniffing with its nose and tasting objects with its tongue.

The animal doubles as a burrowing tank, hauling a passenger beneath the ground and bending or relocating any trees that block its route. Water undoes it, and paved or built-up districts choke its movement because concrete seals off the earth it depends on.

Its signature method, sometimes called Caterpillar Propulsion, works by grinding through the dirt and letting soil and sand bond to its shell before ejecting the debris behind it. Because it turns the ground itself into a rolling track, it leaves almost no tremor at the surface and no visible trace of its tunnel, all while keeping its rider safe. The pace is quick enough that Soft and Wet's bubbles pass straight through its body before Josuke can trigger them.
