Appearance

Dragona is a lean eighteen-year-old with tanned skin and long dark dreadlocks that split into straight bangs across the brow. A ring of flowers crowns their head, several petals drawn out to resemble reaching hands. Dragon imagery covers the body: stylized dragon tattoos mark both shoulders and the left thigh, triple claw-marks streak the chest, arms, and thigh, and a pendant at the neck bears a letter D shaped like a dragon.

The debut look pairs a plain dark bikini with a belt and arm rings, though later scenes swap it for a dress, and cosmetic injections have made the chest more prominent to read as more feminine. As a member of the family, Dragona carries the Joestar Star Birthmark on the left shoulder.

Personality

Cheerful and easygoing, Dragona delights in women's fashion, regularly dressing in feminine clothing and taking filler injections, a passion that led to work at the Iko Iko boutique. Their speech leans girlish as well, using the feminine pronoun atashi and stretching words into cute shapes such as drawing out an "Okaayy."

Alongside their sibling Jodio they take part in a string of crimes, but their Stand lacks his raw offense, so they lean on trickery and persuasion when trouble arises. Dragona also holds a firmer moral compass than their brother, once insisting Jodio spare a molesting officer even while thanking him and helping bury the evidence, and they scold the gangster Paco for robbing customers, tugging his ear as punishment. A creature of routine, Dragona jogs each morning and follows yoga courses, living by an instructor's advice to press on steadily without pushing too hard, and starts every day with papaya.

History

Dragona is the elder child of Barbara Ann Joestar and an unnamed father, born ahead of Jodio and descended from Joseph Joestar and Suzi Q. Four years earlier, at fourteen, they suffered relentless bullying from a wealthy classmate whose family funded their school. When the girl sexually harassed Dragona on the bus and gouged at their chest with an eyelash curler, a raindrop conjured by Jodio cut the assault short. Jodio's failed plan to torch the bully's bus, called off to spare a parrot, showed Dragona how far their brother would go, and though disturbed they felt grateful enough to finally sleep. They vowed to grow stronger, named the two Stands November Rain and Smooth Operators, and used the latter to shift their wound onto a spoon. The family's fortunes then collapsed after their father was forced to overpay the bus company's insurance and was fired for it, driving everyone out of Honolulu and into mounting debt as gangs spread through the neighborhood.

A turning point came when Meryl Mei Qi, aware of their struggles, offered to reunite them with their mother in exchange for joining her crew. Dragona and Jodio accepted, using their new standing to support Barbara, and over time Dragona took a post at Meryl's Kahili boutique. On a job smuggling drugs inside surfboards, the pair steal a pickup, and Dragona forges a driver's license by swapping the photo with their Stand.

When police stop the truck over its blaring music, one officer drags Dragona out and harasses them until Jodio steps in and crushes both men with November Rain, aided by Dragona sliding an officer's eyes to the back of his skull. After the siblings destroy the cameras and alter the plates, they regroup with the gang and are summoned by Meryl, who unveils a 24-carat blue diamond worth six million dollars held by a Japanese tourist on Hawaii's Big Island. Traveling there with Paco and the newcomer Usagi Alohaoe, Dragona helps crack the villa's safe, but the owner, Rohan Kishibe, catches on. A thread-like Stand snares them, and though they clutch the diamond it refuses to stay in their grip; Rohan then activates Heaven's Door before Jodio turns the tables, capturing him and blackmailing him with a stolen lava rock.

As the group flees, the rock's strange pull drags valuables toward it, springing a trap that hoists Jodio into the trees and sews Dragona to Paco. Wounded and barely able to move, Dragona relies on Paco and Jodio's rain until Usagi returns to pull them free. Later, waiting at a cafe before the flight home, the crew tests the lava rock further and starts to realize they are being tracked. Throughout these jobs Dragona wields Smooth Operators, a colony Stand of tread-mounted humanoid figures able to seize and reposition almost anything, even objects meant to stay fixed in place.
