Enrico Pucci

Pucci is a dark-skinned man of roughly average height and lean, fit build. His white hair is cropped very short, with shaved lines carving two elongated hexagons of hair between scalp and temples, each running to meet an eyebrow through a zig-zagging strand. Thin sideburns reach down to the middle of his jaw.

After he fuses with the Green Baby, his look shifts considerably: strands join his eyebrows into a five-pointed star on the forehead, the hair is redesigned with shaved lines sweeping to the base of the skull, and he grows ponytails or dreadlocks that thread through the holes of his collar. He also gains the Star Birthmark on his shoulder, and in some depictions his eyelashes spike, his skin gains fine lines, and a heavier double belt and golden wristbands appear. His slim gown reads purple in the manga and black in the anime.

The priest is a fanatic bound wholly to DIO's plan, outwardly serene and rarely betraying emotion; under stress he counts off prime numbers to steady himself. As a teenager he was a gentle, faithful soul striving toward priesthood, but the suicide of his beloved sister Perla plunged him into despair and drove him to DIO, whom he had met before. From those talks he emerged a radical believer in Fate, a force he calls "Gravity," convinced that humans are powerless against the forces ruling the universe.

Prone to endless chitchat inherited from DIO, Pucci often reaches for stray trivia to press a point. His backstory, dense with near-impossible coincidences and a death no one could truly be blamed for, seems to have seeded that belief. Fusing DIO's vision with his own, he set out to make every person aware of their fated path through Made in Heaven, granting them the "resolution" to accept destiny, which he calls true happiness. Beneath the calm, though, his obsession with reaching heaven can crack, and he proves unable to accept dying at the hands of Jolyne or Emporio.

Pucci was born on June 5, 1972, in the deep south to a wealthy family of Italian descent, and was well liked despite a disfigured left foot that never hindered his walking. Already on the path to priesthood at fifteen, he stumbled upon DIO's feet beneath a table while sweeping; DIO healed his twisted foot and left him an Arrow as a parting gift. A year later, a weeping woman confessed to swapping her sickly baby with another family's fraternal twin, and the family name turned out to be Pucci. Soon after, his sister Perla fell for a part-time worker named Wes Bluemarine, in truth Pucci's presumed-dead twin brother. Bound by the secrecy of the confessional, Pucci could not speak, so he secretly hired a private-eye group to break the couple up. The group held the beliefs of the Ku Klux Klan, discovered Wes's father was African American, and lynched him, while Perla was beaten and later took her own life.

Cradling his sister's body, Pucci found a DISC emerging from her head and gained his Stand, Whitesnake, an effect of DIO's Arrow. He removed Wes's memory DISC, leaving him to become Weather Report, and spent the rest of the year with DIO learning the "ingredients" for a perfect world; DIO gave him one of his foot bones as a keepsake should he die. Completing his priesthood to gain mobility, Pucci secured a chaplain post at Green Dolphin Street Prison and became its longest-serving employee over eight years, quietly amassing Stands through Whitesnake's DISCs, killing Emporio's mother, and creating Foo Fighters to guard his hidden stash.

To recover DIO's plan, Pucci and Johngalli A. frame Jolyne Cujoh for manslaughter so she will be sent to the prison and lure her father, Jotaro Kujo, into a trap. There Whitesnake steals Jotaro's Stand and memory DISCs, and Pucci mines those memories for the design while disposing of the sniper. His assassins, including Miraschon and Lang Rangler, fail to kill Jolyne and her growing circle of allies. Turning to the heart of the plan, he has Sports Maxx revive DIO's Bone, then fuses with the resulting Green Baby, awakening C-Moon as he becomes the center of a gravitic anomaly.

Leaving the prison, Pucci heads for Cape Canaveral and gathers DIO's three sons, Ungalo, Rikiel, and Donatello Versus, awakening their Stands. He kills Weather Report by stabbing his heart while secretly extracting his DISC, then disguises Donatello as himself to slip away. At Cape Canaveral he pilots C-Moon against the Joestars until, cornered, he realizes he can recreate the exact conditions for the ultimate power and evolves the Stand into Made in Heaven, steadily accelerating time. His speed lets him kill Jotaro, Ermes, and Anasui, and finally Jolyne, though not before she slices his right eye and Emporio escapes. Pucci then brings the universe to its end and remakes it as a world where everyone gains foreknowledge to accept their fate.

The lone remaining obstacle is Emporio. Pucci halts the acceleration at the moment of Jotaro's prison visit to keep the boy from interfering, then chases him through an alternate Green Dolphin Street Prison. As Emporio flees into the crack of his ghost room, Pucci accidentally pushes the Weather Report DISC into him through the blind angle left by his damaged eye. Emporio turns the Stand on him, flooding the room with oxygen so the sped-up time hastens Pucci's poisoning, and Weather Report beats the priest to death. His new universe is undone and reset into a world where reincarnations of the Joestar line meet again by chance, leaving the fate of Pucci's own soul unknown. He also appears in canon side stories, as an incarnation in the 37th universe of the light novel JORGE JOESTAR and in the spinoff Fujiko's Bizarre Worldly Wisdom.
