Gwess

Of ordinary height and build, Gwess carries a mane of long dark hair and marks three small dots beneath her left eye. Her prison getup layers a striped tank top and matching striped trousers under the standard Green Dolphin Street jacket, though the trouser legs shift to plain contrasting colors from the thighs down. Tall boots trimmed with tiered, stepped accessories finish the look, along with a hollow cap patterned after bird feet that lets her hair spill out and a heavy band clasped at her throat.

At first Gwess seems gentle, doting on a 'pet' she feeds and coos over, yet the mask drops the instant she is denied, revealing someone glib enough to deceive and unstable enough to kill for amusement. For all that menace she is fundamentally a coward. Ignorant of what Stands truly are, she withdrew from every fight after losing to Jolyne, passing her time with magazines and playing the meek servant, growing especially quiet while Jolyne suffered under the Jail House Lock cast by Miu Miu.

Her fixation is on anything 'cute.' She stuffs the people she shrinks into the hollowed carcasses of animals, treats them as pets, and forbids them from speaking unless it is to chirp adoring baby-talk back at her.

According to her inmate record, Gwess drew a twelve-year sentence for arson, attempted murder, and violating parole. Before Jolyne ever arrived, she had purchased a pendant from Ermes Costello for a mere two dollars, never realizing the trinket held a shard of the Stand Arrow that gave her Goo Goo Dolls, a power that shrinks whatever targets she picks down to mouse scale. When Jolyne is assigned to her cell, Gwess claims the pendant is hers and offers to sell it back for two hundred dollars, having already tossed out the photo it once held.

She had earlier kept a former guard shrunken inside a dead bird she named 'Pi,' discarding the creature when it failed to be sufficiently adorable, then seized on the newly shrunk Jolyne as its replacement, dressing her in a hollowed rat and christening her 'Chorokichi.' Her escape scheme, sending the tiny Jolyne past the guard post to disable the prison locks, unravels once distance weakens her hold and Jolyne swells back to full size, awakening Stone Free. Though Gwess briefly regains the advantage and summons a guard to execute her rival, Stone Free batters her into submission. Beaten, she settles into a subdued, faintly fearful life as Jolyne's reluctant lackey.
