Appearance

Kenzou is a compact but powerfully built old man; his face is deeply creased and clean-shaven, marked by strikingly long brows above narrow, slanted eyes, with a cluster of slim braids trailing from the back of his skull. He goes about in a fur-lined bodysuit left bare across the chest, a gem-studded skullcap dotted with large pearls, and a necklace worked in the same jeweled style.

Personality

Kenzou is convinced that lasting health flows from what he terms urine therapy, swallowing his own each morning as a fixed ritual. His prison file further notes him as schooled in tai chi, kung fu, and the tea ceremony, a spread of disciplines fitting for a man who once headed a devoted following.

History

In his younger years Kenzou headed a wildly popular cult, a following that drew Hollywood stars and various celebrities. He and his thirty-four disciples were commanded to burn themselves alive, yet he alone walked out of the flames. That crime earned him a sentence totaling 280 years, and from then on he plotted a return to the upper rungs of society, hungry to relive his old glory.

Working as a hired killer, Kenzou is planted inside the maximum-security block of Green Dolphin Street Prison, brought in beside D an G to eliminate Jolyne Cujoh and those around her. His signature move drives a hand down the target's gullet to snap the fourth vertebra, the one linked to the kidneys, so that the lungs empty of air and the victim effectively drowns in their own adrenaline. Guiding all this is his Stand, Dragon's Dream, which taps feng shui to expose the luckiest angles of assault; tellingly, it takes no side and will serve whoever wields it.

He squares off against Foo Fighter, whose strange biology turns the duel far tougher than any bout with a normal human. F.F. first falls to the drowning trick, but on grasping how Dragon's Dream functions she forces him into an electric chair, paying for it with a split collarbone. As she leaves to find water and recover, the still-living Kenzou pounces on Jolyne, only for Anasui to announce that Diver Down now sits inside her. That Stand warps Kenzou's legs, then his whole lower half, into coiled spring-like limbs that fling him skyward, and the fall is taken to finish him.
