Mariah

Strikingly beautiful and long-limbed, Mariah has dark skin and a short crop of pale hair. Her look centers on a hood worn with a miniskirt, rounded out by gloves, dark tights, leather shoes fastened with a bow, and sunglasses pushed up on her head. Beneath that provocative getup she stashes a hoard of screws, bolts, blades, and other bits of hardware to hurl at anyone she has magnetized. Where the manga keeps her covered, the anime exposes her midriff.

On first impression Mariah seems collected and cool, but let a scheme go sideways and her temper detonates. Rattled, she screws up her face and gnaws her lip for comic effect, and she gives a very recognizable laugh whenever an enemy hangs powerless in her Stand's magnetic pull. She leans toward older men too, praising Joseph as attractive and admitting she might have taken him as a lover had DIO not outshone him.

Bastet, Mariah's Stand, masquerades as an electrical outlet, and whoever lays a hand on it becomes magnetized, pulling nearby metal toward their body. She unleashes it on Joseph and Avdol, piling debris onto them and even dragging the two men into one another. Showing off her tactics, she schemes to have a train run them down and later to electrocute them.

The pair flip the trap around, steering her to a spot between them so their metal-laden bodies crash together against her. The collision fractures every segment of bone in her frame, shuts Bastet down, and leaves her hospitalized and finished as a fighter.

A later spin-off manga, Crazy Diamond's Demonic Heartbreak, picks her up again as a former DIO operative. There she trades angry words with Hol Horse before he takes on a job hunting the missing parrot of an old woman, the very woman who once trained Pet Shop.
