Unable to speak, Michal devotes herself to helping her brother, even when his goals clash with her own wishes. She has no real appetite for battle yet fights anyway for his sake, and she swears herself to DIO purely so she can remain at Absalom's side. Her Stand, Dark Mirage, echoes the desert years that shaped her, since shimmering illusions were a familiar and captivating sight in that landscape.

Michal commands Dark Mirage, a Stand rooted in the illusions of the desert. Its power conjures mirages so convincing that she raises an entire phantom town and, through the Stand, hardens that vision into something real. From within the false streets she can strike at her targets, once hurling a mirage oil tanker at an enemy that erupts into a wall of flame.

Raised in the desert, Michal was orphaned four years before the story when a train crash killed her parents, a disaster that also wrecked her throat and stole her voice. DIO reunited her with Absalom, and the pair pledged themselves to him after he vowed to build a world apart from both the desert and civilization. Absalom, bitter toward society, embraced the promise at once, but Michal felt none of the pull toward DIO's vision that her brother did.

She chooses to help him confront the Joestar group, wearing them down with relentless mirages. Though she wavers, she stays beside him for a second attempt, raising a whole illusory town made real by her Stand. Hidden inside it, she ambushes Jean Pierre Polnareff, and her mirage tanker bursts into flames around him. Polnareff pinpoints her position but will not raise his hand against a woman, so he ends the fight with one strike from the flat of Silver Chariot's blade, knocking her out. Like Absalom, she is later gathered up by villagers who took the Joestar group for the true villains.
