Appearance

In the manga Midler stays almost entirely out of frame, glimpsed only from the waist down in a couple of panels that show a woman of ordinary height and build in a plain dress. Once she is beaten, Polnareff cannot bring himself to look at her, since the punishment Star Platinum dealt her Stand carried back to her body and knocked out every one of her teeth.

For the fighting game Heritage for the Future she received a full design in the mold of a belly dancer. That version adds a headscarf and mouth veil, high heels, a bikini-style top, a loose wrap at the hips, and bands wound about her upper arms, wrists, thighs, and ankles, with star-tipped pins set in her dark, curly hair.

Personality

Midler shares a streak with Mariah, another of DIO's agents met later on. She turns flirtatious and suggestive during her fight, calling the cool, reserved Jotaro just her type and claiming she regrets having to kill a man she could have loved, though she admits DIO appeals to her even more.

The group tries to exploit that interest, feeding her a line that Jotaro likes her sultry voice and wants to meet her on shore. She refuses to bite, snapping that she despises lies, and the ploy only hardens her resolve to finish them off.

History

Little is recorded about Midler before she surfaces, though her standing suggests a long career as a Stand assassin, since Avdol already knew her by reputation. Her reasons for serving DIO stay murky beyond likely payment, and the way she gushes about him hints she was charmed into his service much as Mariah was. Her Stand, High Priestess, seizes on mineral material to build large and intricate shapes, and its long reach let her attack from ashore while the group sat trapped on the ocean floor.

She slips into Muhammad Avdol's submarine and boxes the crew inside, with the Stand molding itself into passing objects and surfaces to harry them and grind them down while she taunts from a distance. After they escape the vessel she stays a step ahead, drawing on metals in the seafloor to swell the Stand to enormous size and snap the group inside its giant jaws. Boasting that her teeth outmatch diamond, she tries to crush Jotaro, only for Star Platinum to hammer those teeth out. Reaching the shore, Polnareff goes to inspect their attacker, then recoils in horror at her battered, toothless face.
