Pannacotta Fugo

Fugo is a slim young man with spiky hair and heavy bangs falling down the right side of his face, their number shifting between appearances; the anime gives him three bangs across the forehead instead. His two-piece suit is riddled with holes at the sleeves and legs, paired with a wristwatch, a belt, and a strawberry-patterned tie, the same fruit motif marking the front of his shoes.

His earliest look added a hole at the jacket's chest and earrings shaped like wishing lamps. In flashbacks to his younger days he wears a collared shirt beneath the jacket and keeps his hair shorter.

Fugo is earnest and deeply caring, yet his temper is a live wire. His kindness shows in how he once brought a starving, ailing Narancia into a restaurant and later tutored and shielded him, and he mixes easily with the rowdy Mista and Narancia while openly praising Giorno's cleverness. Cross him, though, and he turns savagely violent: he dropped out of school after beating a teacher with an encyclopedia, and he stabs Narancia with a fork or jabs him with keys over simple mistakes. The anime traces this instability to relentless parental pressure to excel.

For all that, Fugo is genuinely brilliant and cautious, having reached university level at thirteen, and he consistently argues for the safer course. When the team must choose between defying the Boss alongside Bucciarati or seeking safety, cold logic leads Fugo to desert.

Purple Haze, Fugo's Stand, releases a flesh-eating virus from capsules on its knuckles that can kill anything nearby within thirty seconds, a savagery said to mirror Fugo's own buried rage. He was born to a wealthy Naples family and pushed hard in his studies, boasting an IQ of 152 and entering university at thirteen to study law. After he beat a professor who tried to seduce him, his parents kept him out of prison but disowned him, leaving him to survive by petty theft until the gangster Bruno Bucciarati, impressed by his grasp of the law, took him in. Passing Polpo's test gave him Purple Haze.

Within Team Bucciarati he becomes a teacher figure to Narancia and Bucciarati's trusted second. During the mission to guard Trish, his standout fight comes against Illuso, whose Man in the Mirror traps him in a mirror world and strips Purple Haze away from him; Giorno turns the tables by infecting himself and passing the virus on, letting Fugo direct his Stand to kill Illuso from beyond the mirror. Fugo salutes Giorno's willingness to gamble his own life. When Bucciarati finally rebels against the Boss to save Trish, Fugo alone refuses to follow, and he is left standing on the docks as the others sail off.

Two novels carry his story further. In Golden Heart, Golden Ring he is ordered to help wipe out the now-traitorous Team Bucciarati but quietly shields them instead. In Purple Haze Feedback he resurfaces six months later, tasked by Giorno through Mista with destroying Passione's rogue narcotics team; in the fight against Massimo Volpe his Stand evolves into Purple Haze Distortion, and afterward he swears his loyalty to Giorno.
