Slender and youthful, Sale wears his hair spiked along the sides before it drops off around the midpoint of his head, a style that echoes Fugo's. His sleeveless top plunges into a deep V and cuts away at the hips, and stars decorate the shirt, the trousers, and his arm warmers alike. A cap features in his earlier scenes, but he ditches it ahead of the clash with Mista.

Set beside the impulsive Zucchero, Sale is the cooler head: deliberate, driven, and hungry to climb. He reasons that six billion lire would lift his rank within Passione considerably, and he schemes accordingly. Cunning shows in how he correctly pegs Bucciarati as the subordinate most likely to have stashed the treasure, and in his caution on Capri, where he refuses to expose himself and tries to reach Zucchero quietly when Giorno baits a trap. He has honed Kraft Work thoroughly, yet his habit of narrating every tactic to Mista reveals a streak of overconfidence.

While combing for Polpo's fortune with Zucchero, Sale is cornered by Mista, who tags him first in the leg and then in the head, sparking a duel atop a truck. Kraft Work, a close-range humanoid Stand that pins any object it touches in place, lets him shrug off the gunfire by draining each round of its momentum before it can reach his brain. He is finally undone when Mista spends a last shot, having all six Sex Pistols drive it into the original wound so the earlier bullet burrows deeper. Somehow he clings to life and ends up out cold on Bucciarati's boat.

In Purple Haze Feedback he and Zucchero are pressed into wiping out the drug squad to prove their allegiance. Leaning on his partner's Soft Machine, Sale breaks into the group's warehouse in Villa San Giovanni to take out Vittorio Cataldi and Angelica Attanasio. Angelica's Night Bird Flying bleeds away his sanity, leaving him fighting Vittorio with a fogged head. He does land a solid hit to Vittorio's chest, but his own ability is redirected through Dolly Dagger, pinning his heart in place so that a single step back tears it from his body and kills him.
