An eight-pointed scar marks the skin over Sheila E's left eye, a hard detail on the face of an otherwise slender Italian teenager. Her black hair falls long, and several strands near the front are woven into pale, narrow plaits. For clothing she favors a bulky open coat fastened only across the midriff, worn over little more than a bra and underwear, paired with loose leggings cut from matching cloth and no shoes at all. Zigzag triangular patterns run across the outfit, echoing Native American design.

Blunt and quick to speak her mind, Sheila E carries the brashness of youth, sparing Fugo no criticism for walking out on his own team. That same directness shapes how she tackles problems, since her first instinct is to smash whatever gets in her way. Under the rough edges sits a rigid moral compass: she despises the wicked and reveres upright, magnetic figures like Giorno, so strongly that she cannot raise a hand against anyone she judges more righteous than herself. Failure gnaws at her, pushing her to hurl herself into greater danger as a kind of penance. Her alias nods to the Erinyes, the vengeful goddesses of Greek myth, the letter E standing in for the Italian word Erinni.

Her Stand, Voodoo Child, can raise a pair of lips on nearly any surface and use them to replay a sound or a stray thought, and it hits hard at close range. She also owns an unusually sharp nose, able to tell people apart by scent, a knack she developed as a child while romping with her dog Toto. Her path into Passione began as a hunt for the man who murdered her sister Clara, and even at ten years old she proved merciless, wiping out the Miranze gang and handing their Rome casinos to the syndicate, which earned her a place among the Boss' bodyguards.

Once Giorno explains that Illuso is already dead, she treats the outcome as fair justice and pledges herself to him out of gratitude. Because she had kept quiet contact with the execution squad, something normally forbidden between teams, she is dispatched to wipe out the narcotics team alongside Fugo and Cannolo Murolo, and the trio set off for Sicily. There a decoy planted by Mario Zucchero draws her away, and she rejoins the group already ensnared by Vladimir Kocaqi's Stand, which beats her by trapping her in the certainty that she cannot win, though Fugo still manages to finish Kocaqi off.

The chase carries on to Syracuse, where Nightbird Flying downs their helicopter, yet she pulls Fugo from the sea before he drowns. Leaving a wavering Fugo behind, she takes on the narcotics crew by herself and is easily overpowered by Massimo Volpe, only to be rescued when Fugo finally gathers his resolve and brings Volpe down.
