Speedwagon Foundation

Speedwagon founds the organization on the vast wealth he earns from oil discovered in the United States, which makes him one of the richest men alive. He arranges for that fortune to bankroll medical research and the protection of wildlife and plant life after his death in 1952. Tucked inside it sits a Supernatural Research Department tasked with probing anomalies like the Pillar Men and Stand phenomena. The group maintains two principal bases, one in Washington, D.C. and another in Dallas, Texas, along with smaller offices in Japan.

Throughout the twentieth century the foundation repeatedly shelters and equips the Joestar bloodline. Its scientists first examine the Mexican temple where Santana lies dormant, secure his remains, and uncover a warning about three more Pillar Men stirring. A special combat unit even fights beside German forces against Kars. Decades later the organization steers the third Joestar Group toward Cairo with intelligence and transport, treats Holly Kujo in Tokyo, and helps revive Joseph. In 1999 it escorts Joseph to Morioh and safeguards the Bow and Arrow. During Stone Ocean it supplies Jolyne a submarine for her prison escape and launches a spear in the direction of the Kennedy Space Center to help her reach Enrico Pucci.

Robert E. O. Speedwagon heads the organization as its founder until he dies. Its ranks fill with researchers, pilots, sailors, doctors, and a Special Technology Fighting Team, alongside allies drawn from the broader Joestar circle such as Erina Pendleton, Lisa Lisa, Joseph Joestar, and Jotaro Kujo. In the separate Steel Ball Run continuity, the group exists instead as the Speedwagon Oil Company, which finances Steven Steel's race and later counts Lucy Steel among its investigators.
