Tamaki Damo

Though he insists he is only twenty-three, Damo looks considerably older, his balding scalp disguised under a stubborn comb-over. He grooms his facial hair into a goatee paired with a horseshoe mustache and hides his eyes behind aviator shades. His outfit is a dark tracksuit trimmed with spikes at the sleeves and stamped with a saxophone over the left breast, worn on a frame that is both stout and overweight, leaving him far shorter than Hato.

He first comes across as a bashful, courteous man who mumbles his way through meeting the Higashikata family, but that meekness is a mask for a cold, calculating operator. Running the Locacaca trade is something he takes with deadly seriousness, guarding its secrecy and striking fast and hard whenever it is put at risk, all driven by naked greed. His usual method is to slip into an enclosed space and coat it with Vitamin C's handprints so that everyone inside melts and turns helpless, after which he savors ordering his victims around and torturing them, sometimes recording it for his own amusement. He flies into brief, violent rages at the faintest suggestion of being underestimated or played for a fool, yet he can just as readily praise an enemy's cleverness. Manipulative enough to seduce Hato purely to reach her family, he also proves a coward the instant his own life is genuinely on the line.

Damo entered the world as a nameless Rock Human and simply took the name Tamaki Damo from some unlucky person, then set up a cleaning shop called Damo Kan while leading the men of the Locacaca Organization and selling the fruit to a wealthy few. In August 2011 he and his accomplice Yotsuyu Yagiyama stow away on Yoshikage Kira's boat and ambush Kira and Josefumi Kujo, softening both with Vitamin C and interrogating them over the stolen Locacaca branches before the pair escape.

In the present he surfaces as Hato's first-ever boyfriend brought home to meet her father. Once inside, he melts Kei and Joshu away, corners Norisuke, and drops the polite act to explain that he came to erase whoever eliminated his missing associates. He slices off Norisuke's arm with a thousand-yen bill and torments him with a fish squirming inside his liquefied body until Norisuke gives up Josuke's link to Josefumi. Josuke intervenes, Hato is revealed to be a Stand user, and she impales the terrified Damo as he pleads and insists he was only joking. Fatally wounded, he flees the house, runs into Josuke on the street, and tries one last bargain by offering Locacaca to heal Josuke's mother. Josuke answers with a single punch that crushes his head and crumbles his body into rubble.
