Tonpetty is a Tibetan Ripple master in Phantom Blood who trained Will Anthonio Zeppeli along with Dire and Straizo. A calm, far-seeing teacher, he journeys to Windknight's Lot to help bring down the vampire Dio Brando.
Tonpetty is an older man of moderate height and build with dark skin and eyes, heavy brow ridges lacking eyebrows, deep frown lines, and shadowed bags beneath his eyes. His head is bald and he sports a white chinstrap beard. He usually dresses in a pale yellow monk's robe with brown shoulder armor, and on occasion adds a piece of facial armor resembling a hanbo.
Wise and weathered by the world, Tonpetty carries a genuine concern for others. When he foresaw the grim fate awaiting Zeppeli, he warned him plainly yet never pressed him to turn away from the path he had chosen.
As a Ripple master out of Tibet, Tonpetty trained Dire and a twenty-five-year-old Zeppeli in the technique, and his skill runs deep enough that he can read a person's future simply by holding their hands. He warned Zeppeli that continuing would lead to a brutal end, yet his pupil pressed on toward the Stone Mask and later wrote asking his master's help to destroy it. Answering that call, Tonpetty traveled to Windknight's Lot with Dire and another student, Straizo, though they reached Jonathan Joestar and Robert E. O. Speedwagon only after Zeppeli had already fallen. In the final struggle against Dio Brando, Dire was killed while Tonpetty and Straizo cut down the remaining zombies, and afterward he burned Dio's clothing to blot out his memory. He was last glimpsed at the docks seeing Jonathan and Erina off, and Straizo went on to succeed him.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

There are no women on Namek. That isn't an oversight, it's the biology. Why we handed Piccolo the one thing his own species rules out, and why it had to be trap soul....

Tonpetty trained Dire and a twenty-five-year-old Will Anthonio Zeppeli in the Ripple technique, along with a third student named Straizo. All three later fight alongside him against Dio Brando.
Beyond his mastery of the Ripple, Tonpetty can read a person's future simply by holding their hands. He used this ability to foresee the grim fate awaiting Zeppeli, though he never pressed his student to change course.
No, Tonpetty did not arrive in time to save Will Zeppeli. He traveled to Windknight's Lot with Dire and Straizo after Zeppeli wrote asking for help destroying the Stone Mask, but they reached Jonathan Joestar and Robert E. O. Speedwagon only after Zeppeli had already fallen.
After the final battle against Dio Brando, in which Dire is killed, Tonpetty burns Dio's clothing to blot out his memory. He is last seen at the docks seeing off Jonathan Joestar and Erina, and his student Straizo goes on to succeed him.
