Appearance

The novel never grants Tsukumojuku a drawn face, leaving his looks largely to the reader's imagination. Jorge describes him only as strikingly, flawlessly handsome, so much so that his entrance turns every head in a room. In the source material that inspired him he is said to have been cast out by his parents for being excessively good-looking, and related fiction claims his beauty is potent enough to make onlookers faint, prompting him to keep his eyes hidden behind sunglasses.

Personality

Poised and well-mannered far beyond his years, he takes pleasure in doing detective work for grown officers and shows no squeamishness around killings or gruesome sights. George regards him as the cleverest pupil in their class, quick to reason out a puzzle and confirm his hunches, and the two delight in cracking cases side by side. When his friend later vanishes at sea, George is left cursing the heavens and insisting the boy deserved to be the story's true lead.

History

Born in the Fukui Prefecture of Japan, Tsukumojuku traveled young, carried to Africa by his archaeologist father at three and to the Canary Islands with his mother two years on. By six he was already cracking cases across the Canaries and the Spanish mainland, even summoned to Egypt for one. He surfaces in George Joestar's classroom, unravels the killing of Antonio Torres, and forges a fast friendship, the pair investigating together for four years until he departs by ship for Japan and is lost when the vessel sinks.

He resurfaces in a distant timeline, meeting Joji Joestar and explaining that he crossed from 1904 into 2012 through his power, which he calls his god. That power is Beyond, an ability granting its holder full awareness of being a story's protagonist and, so long as they believe in it, a kind of scripted immunity that bends fate to their favor. Soon afterward he is discovered slain in the eerie Arrow Cross House, his throat cut nearly through, drawing Joji into an investigation alongside its resident, Rohan Kishibe.

Though killed, his spirit persists and continues wandering between worlds, guiding both versions of Jorge Joestar and teaching them to wield Beyond. His death, brought about when the ability discards him as a mere minor character, splits Beyond three ways among Joji, Dio Brando, and George Joestar II, a division his very name is said to foreshadow through its trinity of gods joined by crosses.
