Vanilla Ice

Tall and heavily muscled, Vanilla Ice keeps his wavy hair at collarbone length, colored pale blue in the manga and brown on screen. Hearts recur all across his design: metallic heart-shaped earrings, a heart set into the band that crosses his forehead, a large one bearing the initials VI over his right breast, and a smaller one clasped at his waist. He layers an open, leather-tailed waistcoat above a long-sleeved leotard, runs a metallic strap down from his right shoulder, and leaves his legs bare above dark boots that reach mid-calf. The manga adds gloves that the anime drops.

Everything about Vanilla Ice orbits his absolute worship of DIO. Told that his master might need blood to mend a wound, he calmly uses his Stand to lop off his own head and pour his blood into an urn, a display of devotion that reads as a loyalty test, since DIO revives him without ever drinking it. In most moments he is composed and deliberate, but any insult to DIO detonates his temper. When Iggy conjures a sand double of his master, Ice abandons Cream entirely to beat the dog with his bare fists and feet, insisting such disrespect deserves a slower death. He can also be strikingly absent-minded, punching straight through walls rather than bothering with doors, and his unthinking loyalty ultimately dooms him, because he keeps stepping out of his own Stand to strike in person whenever DIO's honor is questioned.

Ice first appears as a human, bringing word of Telence D'Arby's defeat to Dio's chamber. Told that D'Arby fell because he would not stake his life for his master, Ice is asked to surrender his blood to heal Dio's neck; without pause he decapitates himself and lets it spill into an urn. Amused and satisfied, Dio declines the offering, mends by other means, and pours the blood back to resurrect Ice as a vampire. Newly undead, Ice activates Cream, a Stand that swallows both itself and its user to become an orb erasing everything it touches, and sets out after Iggy, Polnareff, and Avdol. His surprise strike claims only Avdol, since he shoves the other two aside a moment before impact.

Polnareff answers with a rapid flurry of thrusts from Silver Chariot, and after a chase through the collapsing mansion, Ice erases part of his foot to keep him from fleeing. When Iggy uses The Fool to raise a false DIO, Ice destroys it, explaining that sunlight in the room and his certainty that DIO would never interfere gave the ruse away, then beats Iggy nearly to death in a fury. Silver Chariot spears him through the mouth, but his new immortality shrugs it off, and he wounds Polnareff badly before circling the pair in a spiral meant to kill them without exposing himself.

Iggy sacrifices himself to save Polnareff and loses his lower half to Cream, driving Polnareff to pierce Ice's skull and wrench his neck until it snaps. When the vampire simply rises again, Polnareff finally grasps his nature and slashes a curtain to flood the room with sunlight, searing away Ice's arm and leg before easing him fully into the light, where he disintegrates and closes out DIO's roster of hostile Stand wielders.
