Appearance

Yukako is a strikingly beautiful teenager of slender build, standing 167 cm, with refined features and neat proportions that other characters openly admire. Thick, dark waves of hair spill down to her waist, framing dark eyes and sharply arched brows, and a small mole sits above her right breast. In keeping with the rest of the Morioh cast she is usually seen in a dark sailor uniform with leather shoes, though she shows a grown-up flair in her casual wear.

Personality

Yukako first appears sweet and demure beside Koichi, a mask that slips almost at once to reveal a volatile temper and an all-consuming fixation on him. Drawn to men she sees as full of potential, her affection curdles into something frightening: she kidnaps Koichi to remold him into her ideal and turns murderous when he resists. His decision to save her life even so melts her into genuine, if overpowering, devotion, and from then on she softens and learns to respect his wishes.

Outside of Koichi she is cold, blunt, and quick to lash out, described as insanely tough, with a left eye that twitches when her fury rises and a Stand she will happily turn lethal. Fiercely proud of her looks and her hair, she once threatened to kill Koichi over damaging it, yet she proves capable of real kindness, as when she pushes to help the ailing child Mao Katahira. Often cited as an early example of the yandere type, she was written by Araki as a deliberate answer to the fashion for flawless, docile heroines.

History

A classmate of Okuyasu, Yukako gains Love Deluxe after being struck by Keicho Nijimura's Arrow, and she enters the story mid-date with Koichi. When he hesitates to return her feelings she turns violent, and after Josuke and Okuyasu plant false rumors to scare her off, she abducts him to improve him by force. The confrontation escalates until Koichi saves her from a fatal fall, and the act tips her rage into helpless love.

Still lovesick but wiser about forcing the issue, she turns to Aya Tsuji's Stand Cinderella, which makes her irresistibly beautiful so long as she keeps applying a magic lipstick. The glamour lets her win Koichi over into a real relationship, but when she forgets the lipstick her face collapses and she rages at Aya, who ultimately restores her true looks after Koichi steps in to help. The two share a tender moment and become a couple. Later, in Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan, Yukako presses Rohan to examine the strange child Mao Katahira and helps uncover the truth about the girl's father.
