A Hundred Against Two

A brief history sets the scene: the hotel where Joseph and Lisa Lisa find themselves was once a grand resort that fell to ruin after its owner died, and Kars later claimed the crumbling shell as a makeshift base. Tracing Wamuu's trail of blood, the pair run into another vampire, Wired Beck, whose confidence is snuffed out instantly when Lisa Lisa cuts him down with her Ripple-charged scarf. Before they press on, Joseph swears he will not use the antidote he was given until he has beaten Wamuu, honoring his promise to Caesar.

Moving into a pitch-dark chamber where Wamuu awaits, Joseph readies himself, but Lisa Lisa senses a hundred vampires hidden around them, a display of skill that impresses even Wamuu. Kars emerges and orders the swarm to attack, refusing to let Wamuu have his fight, until Lisa Lisa halts everything with a bluff: should both she and Joseph die, she claims, a bomb will destroy the Red Stone of Aja. From there she proposes a split contest, Joseph against Wamuu and herself against Kars, with the stone as the prize.

The combatants agree to gather at midnight by the Skeleton Heel Stone at the foot of Piz Bernina, holding Lisa Lisa as a hostage to guarantee Joseph brings the gem. After retrieving Messina, Joseph rifles through Lisa Lisa's belongings and turns up a fifty-year-old photograph of Erina, Speedwagon, and Straizo, sparking his curiosity. At the arena she finally explains that she was the infant Erina saved from the burning ship all those years ago, later raised by Straizo, who trained her in the Ripple and entrusted her with the stone. The duel is then revealed to be a chariot race pulled by vampire horses, and Joseph ties on Caesar's bandana as he prepares to ride.

Lisa Lisa eliminates the vampire Wired Beck with her Ripple scarf. The pair reach Kars's chamber and Lisa Lisa detects a hundred concealed vampires. She defuses the ambush with a bluff about a bomb rigged to destroy the Red Stone of Aja, brokering paired duels against Wamuu and Kars. A midnight venue is chosen at the Skeleton Heel Stone, with Lisa Lisa held as insurance. Joseph discovers an old photograph, and Lisa Lisa reveals her past as the baby Erina rescued and Straizo's pupil. The upcoming battle is unveiled as a chariot race.

Broadcast on March 2, 2013 and written by Shōgo Yasukawa, the installment adapts chapters 94 through 97 and marks the point where Lisa Lisa's backstory comes to light. It opens on BLOODY STREAM and carries no closing theme. Notably, the confrontation with Wired Beck was placed before the opening credits, and the production trimmed several manga moments, including a scene of Joseph forcing a vampire to bite its own tongue after Kars and Wamuu depart.
