High Priestess, Part 1

A brief recap confirms that Avdol survived his clash with Hol Horse and J. Geil, and the Joestar group now boards a submarine to slip across the Red Sea. Joseph uses the vessel's satellite phone to reassure his wife Suzi Q in New York, urging her not to travel to Japan over Holy's condition. The crew settles in until Jotaro counts six mugs where there should be fewer, and one of them lunges at Joseph.

The intruder proves nimble enough to slip past Star Platinum, and Avdol identifies it as High Priestess, a Stand steered from a distance by a woman named Midler. Able to become any mineral, it starts wrecking the submarine and sends it sinking toward the seabed as the group's oxygen thins. When Suzi Q calls back, Jotaro answers and calms her, though Suzi and her butler Roses soon set out for Japan themselves.

The battle grows desperate as High Priestess evades every Stand and forces the heroes toward evacuation. Reaching for the door, Avdol nearly grabs the disguised Stand, saved when Star Platinum seizes the handle, which then warps into a blade and must be dropped. Unable to land a direct hit, the group resolves to surface, but Jotaro vows to bring down High Priestess himself.

The episode introduces the Stand High Priestess and its distant user Midler, along with Suzi Q's return and the debut of her butler Roses. The submarine's descent to the seabed leaves the crew short on air and unable to strike the shapeshifting enemy directly.

Adapting most of Chapter 179 through Chapter 180, the episode aired September 6, 2014 under the opening STAND PROUD and the ending Walk Like an Egyptian. The added Suzi Q material gives the only on-screen exchange between her and Jotaro. Director Naokatsu Tsuda noted that Suzi's scenes keep Holy's plight present and lend the submarine a sitcom-like warmth.
