Overview

Fashioned from an unknown material, each ring is a sealed hollow loop holding an extremely potent toxin. Their one purpose is coercion. During Battle Tendency, Wamuu and Esidisi plant them inside Joseph Joestar so that he cannot dodge the rematch they set for thirty-three days after their first clash.

Function

The bands are timed to dissolve within a human body over roughly a month, spilling their poison at the end. Because the Pillar Men can slip through flesh without harming it, they lodge the rings straight onto internal organs, where the metal fuses so tightly to the organ walls that a doctor finds them impossible to simply pull free. Neutralizing the venom means recovering antidotes hidden in piercings on the Pillar Men themselves, one set in Wamuu's lip and one in Esidisi's nose. Since every ring holds a different poison, an antidote from one owner does nothing against another's ring.

Notable Users

Wamuu and Esidisi are the two who actually implant their rings in Joseph. Esidisi's remark to Kars, asking whether he means to place a ring of his own, hints that Kars possesses one as well, though he never puts it to use.
