Battikaroa

Battikaroa's towering frame is packed together from grey-blue sand, echoing the build of the earlier sand Hollow Runuganga. A ring of spikes juts upward around its neck, while assorted knobs stud the head. The forearms swell far thicker than the upper arms, and the empty Hollow cavity sits at the center of its chest. Patterned markings cross the belly, a loose cloth wrap hangs low at the hips, and plain bands circle both wrists and the upper arms.

The sand giant confronts Renji Abarai and Yasutora Sado as the pair carve through swarms of lesser Hollows beneath the fifth tower of Las Noches. Renji's opening thrust at the midsection backfires when his blade nearly vanishes into the sandy bulk, forcing Sado to help wrench the sword free. Sado's La Muerte splits a crack running up toward the mask, but he is knocked away before it reaches. The two eventually work out that the head is the only vulnerable point. While Sado keeps the Hollow busy with another La Muerte strike low on its body, Renji lands a Hikotsu Taihō blast squarely on the mask, finishing Battikaroa off.

So long as the mask stays whole, Battikaroa knits its sand body back together, rendering most hits useless. By gaping its mouth wide it fires a broad crimson Cero, and its punches carry enough force to hurl grown opponents across great distances. It can also unhinge its jaw far enough to swallow an entire cluster of enemies in a single motion.
