Rusaburo Enkogawa

Enryu is a heavily built man crowned with a small mohawk shaped like a lightning bolt. He keeps large sunglasses over his eyes and tends to wear an odd expression. A pale purple garment shows beneath his standard black Soul Reaper robes.

Throughout the conspiracy Enryu never speaks aloud, relying instead on a sign language only Kenryu can read, which left many to assume he was mute. That assumption is upended when he shields Rurichiyo from Shusuke Amagai and lets out a surprisingly high-pitched voice he is plainly embarrassed about.

Enryu pairs unusual strength with speed. He can outrun a pack of Hollows while carrying Rurichiyo, and his raw power lets him smash through paved streets and tear loose a huge slab of ground to hurl a great distance. Though it is unclear how refined his footwork is, his Shunpo carries him faster than the pursuing threats.

His Zanpakuto, Daichimaru, meaning The Land, is a defense-type blade that in its sealed state looks like an ordinary katana with a light blue hilt. Released with the command 'Rock,' it becomes a pair of massive black fists linked by a chain that runs across his shoulders. When he strikes the ground, a trail of stone races toward his target, and hand-shaped tatami slabs, formed from whatever the ground is made of, rise up to trap or protect. The walls prove tough enough that Amagai needed his Bakkoto's power to break free.
