Nawaki

Nawaki had hazel eyes and short, light-brown hair, with faint blushes coloring his cheeks. He dressed in a dark teal poncho-style top over light green pants. Around his neck hung the First Hokage's necklace, a gift he treasured. Naruto Uzumaki would later be noted for how closely he resembled the boy.

Observers often compared Nawaki to both Naruto Uzumaki and Dan Katō. He clung to the ambition of earning the Hokage title, taking pride in the office and in the legacy of his grandfather, whose village he wanted to defend as its founder's descendant. He detested losing, and much like Dan he carried himself as an upright figure devoted to justice.

Nawaki was the grandson of Hashirama and Mito and a grandnephew of Tobirama. On his twelfth birthday he shared his Hokage dream with his sister Tsunade, who handed him their grandfather's necklace hoping it would carry him toward that goal. The very next day he was killed after stumbling into an explosive trap. By the time Tsunade reached him, Orochimaru observed that the damage to his body left it unrecognizable. Orochimaru recovered the necklace and returned it to the grieving Tsunade.

Long after his death, Orochimaru dangled a grim offer before Tsunade: he would revive Nawaki alongside her lover Dan Katō through the Impure World Reincarnation in exchange for restoring his arms, a ritual that demanded a living sacrifice. She turned it down, understanding that neither Nawaki nor Dan would ever want their return bought with another person's life. The name Nawaki carries the meaning of "rope tree," echoing his sister's own name.
