Sekiei (spectator)

A sash circled Sekiei's waist and brown gloves covered his hands. His brown hair was cropped short and framed his face above dark eyes. Beneath the older-style flak jacket of his village he wore a grey suit, and he tied his forehead protector across his brow like a bandanna.

Sekiei acted the opportunist, treating the disorder of the Konoha Crush as a chance to seize the Byakugan. He even suggested to his partner that killing Hinata Hyuga would let them carry the eyes back to Kumogakure, showing no hesitation about ending a young genin's life. He was also wary and methodical, denying opponents any opening by planting traps and restricting their movement, even when the foe was far younger than he was.

Much of Sekiei's fighting revolved around earth-based methods, from shifting traps that reshaped themselves to enduring earthen barriers and Earth Release clones used as decoys. When the Suna and Oto forces attacked, he and his partner carried off the unconscious Hinata to pry loose the secrets of her clan's dojutsu, apparently acting on their own rather than under any order from Kumogakure. At the Hyuga Elder's request, Neji Hyuga, Kiba Inuzuka, Akamaru, and Tenten gave chase. Sekiei delayed them with a Mud Wolves trap and, reading Neji as chiefly a taijutsu fighter, bound him to disable his techniques. Neji still overpowered him, and the escape stalled just long enough for Hiashi Hyuga to arrive, defeat Sekiei with ease, and recover Hinata.
