At the Hyuga Elder's urging, Neji Hyuga, Kiba Inuzuka, Akamaru, and Tenten pursued them. A Mud Wolves trap slowed the genin, and once it triggered the pair prepared to flee for Kumogakure, but a now-conscious Hinata wounded him with her Palm Bottom technique. Neji then disguised himself as Kiba and led the Kumo-nin astray with a decoy Hinata, and in the fight that followed he defeated the captor with Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms.
