Gigantification

Gigantification is a close-range Transformation power that appears in the series' opening chapter, which makes it the earliest Meta Ability the story ever bothers to identify by name. It is also the earliest demonstration that one power can belong to several people at once, since four separate holders wield it and no two versions behave identically.

The transformation scales the body up drastically, though each holder's take differs. Yu Takeyama's ceiling sits at 2,062 centimetres, roughly 67 feet 8 inches, and she has no middle setting: she is either her normal height or her maximum, with nothing in between. Gigantomachia tops out somewhere past 2,500 centimetres, about 82 feet, and he can stop anywhere along the way. The Giant Villain's ceiling falls well below Yu's, and he shrinks back involuntarily if he holds the size too long.

Enigma's version works on mass instead of proportion, collapsing her into a blob that can outgrow a residential building. The form behaves like rubber, stretching and contracting freely while absorbing attacks, and she can bud off smaller copies to serve as drones. Gigantomachia grows in response to agitation or excitement, and the other powers stacked inside him let him keep the state running indefinitely.

Size cuts both ways. The mass that lets Yu level buildings also demands room to operate, which makes the power close to useless indoors or in tight quarters. Her control is imperfect enough that frustration or anger can set it off on its own, once costing her the destruction of her own Hero Agency.

Yu Takeyama built a career on giant Villains, the rare opponents her scale meets evenly. Her conduct in that form is reckless, and the property damage trailing behind her keeps her permanently in debt, though she refuses to work outside the city because the visibility matters too much. Canyon Cannon is a flying kick thrown at full size. Titan Cliff pairs the growth with a headbutt, which is how she intercepted Atsuhiro Sako.

Gigantomachia stays large as a constant intimidating presence and grows further mid-battle to overwhelm enemies with brute strength and bulk together. He doubles as transport: the Paranormal Liberation Front's lieutenants rode him toward Jaku City, and the Heroes moved the same way during the Final War once he had been brainwashed. Enigma puts hers to quieter use, expanding to scout on behalf of Team Idaten. The unnamed Giant Villain, the power's first appearance, is the weakest of the four.
