Overview
Whiteline is an Emitter Quirk with long-range reach, wielded by the villain Ending. Its premise is deliberately mundane: the lane markings painted onto ordinary roads answer their user and can be reshaped and directed at will. The Quirk debuts in Chapter 250 and reaches the anime in Episode 106.
Kohei Horikoshi has said the concept struck him during a walk one day, which suits an ability drawn entirely from street furniture nobody looks at twice.
Mechanics
The markings behave less like paint and more like limbs. Ending drives them as writhing tendrils, wrapping a target until movement is impossible, and the same appendages are strong enough to seize objects as heavy as automobiles and hurl them through the air.
How potent the Quirk is on its own remains an open question. Every display of Whiteline has come while Ending was dosed with Trigger, the drug that inflates a Quirk beyond its natural output, so no baseline for the ability has ever been established.
