Gigantomachia

Rock-like jaggedness broke up much of the giant's surface, wrapped around a musclebound bulk under spiky brown hair. He stood roughly as tall as a large tree, or three floors of a building, with his lower canines jutting past his lips on either side. A portable radio traveled with him everywhere, sometimes strung on a rope around his neck. The manga first presented him nude, though bright-black pants came later, and a hooded cloak covered him in public. Some time after the Revival Celebration he took to a new set of armor.

Mole mode reshaped him further. His lower jaw doubled as a visor guarding his eyes from dirt, the canines stretched much longer, claws suited to digging sprouted from his fingers, and spines rose along the jagged back. During the Final War, Mina Ashido's Acidman technique, Alma, badly burned his right claw. When he turned against his old master, fighting beside the Heroes, his frame swelled well past twenty-five meters.

Courtesy came first, though patience ran out fast. Anyone who refused to cooperate drew aggression; anyone who actually helped him watched him simply walk away rather than escalate. Kyudai Garaki called him a walking calamity who lived and died for his master, a description the giant echoed himself, insisting everything he did was for that man. Devotion ran deep enough that simply hearing his master on a recording could pull him out of a blind rage.

Weakness earned no respect from him, which is why Tomura Shigaraki's naming as successor left him crying, unable to picture the boy measuring up to what All For One could do. What changed his mind was watching Tomura come into his real power and win outright against Re-Destro; the giant finally granted him the standing of a leader worth following and shed a tear of joy at the sight of him standing proud over a beaten foe. By his own measure, a ruler had to be feared, had to be looked up to, had to be powerful.

Loyalty never made him numb to his master's decisions. Being left alone when All For One went into hiding saddened him deeply, and the abandonment during the Paranormal Liberation War, carried out while All For One wore Tomura's body, registered as outright betrayal. Once freed, he aimed all of that fury directly at his master, which put him on the Heroes' side almost by accident.

Long before Kyudai Garaki modified him with anything, he had already spent years as the personal bodyguard of All For One. A brief encounter with Gran Torino sent that veteran into a retreat and left a massive cavity gouged into a mountainside. One winter, the six who still made up the League, Himiko Toga, Dabi, Spinner, Twice, Mr. Compress and Tomura, threw themselves at him and were beaten repeatedly; a solid month of nonstop fighting bought half the League almost no progress. Tomura summed the problem up as too much HP, a reserve the behemoth spent grinding opponents into exhaustion. His body tolerated multiple Quirks without ever being modified for it, something almost nobody in the world could manage. Unleashed at the Gunga Mountain Villa, he handled crowds of Pro Heroes single-handedly and killed several, Majestic among them, a hero ranked close to the top ten.

Raw strength let him crack the side of a concrete building by grip alone, blow an enormous hole through a mountainside with one hand, pulverize the landscape and nearby buildings with a hammer-fist, and pitch the equally giant Mt. Lady out of his path; he also lifted and threw a chunk of a mountain. He ran fast enough to rip trees out of the ground in passing, clocking at least 100 kilometers per hour. Physical blows barely marked his skin, though Dabi's blue flames drew mild annoyance, he pushed through the Meta Liberation Army while flanked on all sides, and Momo Yaoyorozu's cannons failed to stop him. He kept up continuous assault for 48 hours and 44 minutes, then resumed after three hours of sleep, and once ran past twenty cities without pausing. The Dog Quirk sharpened his hearing and smell to the point that nothing caught him off guard even while he slumbered, and let him track Tomura from miles off; a single breath scattered U.A. students and wrecked the surroundings. His will held stiff enough that Hitoshi Shinso's Brainwashing only briefly turned him against All For One before he chose that fight himself.

The flaws were narrow but real. He could barely reason unaided and waited on orders, the lone exception being an instinct to reach his master's side in danger. That master's voice controlled him, whether recorded or imitated precisely through Persona Chords. Endurance, his original Quirk, converted morale into physical energy. Garaki bolted on six more: Pain Blocker erased sensation entirely, Gigantification swelled him as agitation rose and kept growing him mid-battle past twenty-five meters, Dog gave him canine senses, Energy Saver let him function on scraps of food, water and sleep, Fierce Gains hardened his muscle to exceptional levels, and Mole grew the claws, spines and visor for tunneling and tearing through buildings. Even so he was not invulnerable. After he helped the Heroes briefly gain the upper hand on All For One, that villain, fully restored and wound back into a younger self by the Rewind Drug, tore away half his upper body with Impure Beam.
