An eyepatch covers the scarred socket where his right eye used to be. The Gollini attack also took his right arm and left leg, and Support Items now stand in for all three. What remains reads ordinary enough at a glance: average build, a mole sitting beneath the left eye, sharp teeth, thin eyes in greenish blue, and brownish-red hair tied off in a short ponytail.

His clothing suits the job. A black tailcoat runs over matching pants and dress shoes, worn with a grey vest, a white undershirt whose collar stays popped, and a tie striped in black and gray. The right sleeve stays rolled and the left pant leg stays torn so the prosthetics remain exposed, while belts across his torso and left leg carry a pouch, holsters, ammunition and spare firearms. The anime places him with the evacuees living in U.A.'s residential district, where he turns up in blue jeans under a loose dress shirt of light blue, its right sleeve pushed up to sit just under the elbow. Eight years past the Final War his hair has grown out past his chin, and the ponytail has given way to a small bun. A white shirt sits beneath a hooded jacket in black.

Calm, stern, and polite in a way that barely conceals the edge underneath. Strangers get a cold, abrasive reception delivered with perfect manners, which is how Izuku Midoriya ended up politely invited to take his dying elsewhere, or alternatively to make himself useful as a human shield.

He was a warmer man once, genuinely happy even though the mansion held him and Anna's side was the one place he could ever be, grateful to her father for the job and the home. Left for dead and cut off from his own Quirk, he literally pieced himself back together and went after the Gollinis to find her. With no way left to treat her Quirk, he resolved to honor his promise and kill her as an act of mercy, a decision that visibly tore at him. Losing his home and losing Anna traumatized him past the point of smiling.

Toward enemies he is brutal and merciless, yet not indiscriminate. He reaches for non-lethal force to disable rather than killing outright, respects Gollini henchmen who refuse to sell out their boss, and even when he had a revolver on Izuku, the boy's Danger Sense stayed quiet, which says he never meant it. He asked Paulo Gollini for Anna back peacefully and regretted having to escalate. Once committed, he does not withdraw, staying in the fight against a heavily empowered Dark Might even after the mafia boss brutalized him.

Heroes, in his view, are hypocrites betraying their own purpose no matter how good their intentions, and he told Izuku as much, shouting that none of them grasp what Anna endures. Still, the warmth is intact underneath. Class 1-A got through to him by sharing their own history with nullifying harmful Quirks and insisting his situation was not one he faced alone, and saving her went back on the table. He then joined Izuku, Katsuki, and Shoto against Dark Might, telling Izuku that a smile was still visible on him. He reassured Anna afterward not to write him off as dead just yet, and when the contract was finally fulfilled and he declared himself no longer needed, her wanting him around anyway made him happy enough to stay.

Military training preceded the butler's uniform, and it shows. He holds his own in close quarters against Heroes and Villains alike, compensating for the missing limbs and the crippled Quirk with high-tech prosthetics that double as weapons, most notably an arm that converts into a gun. Guerrilla instincts round it out: he plays dead to draw enemies in and shoved Izuku out of cover to bait their fire. The hardware even buys him immunity in places, as his cybernetic eye ignored Deborah Gollini's Day Dream Quirk and let him break the brainwashing and counterattack. His marksmanship stays exceptional despite the eyepatch, and on his motorcycle he handles ruined Japanese cityscapes and the artificial terrain Dark Might's Alchemy throws up with equal ease, shooting and defending at speed. He is a capable mechanic, having built his own replacement limbs and repaired the damaged right arm afterward, and as Anna's attendant he handles care work naturally, preparing her tea and brewing his own coffee between fights.

Neutralization suppresses a person's Quirk Factor on contact with his right arm, leaving them effectively Quirkless for a short window. Losing that arm meant losing the ability entirely, since the arm held his Quirk Factor. Anna's Overmodification undid that, spreading the Factor through the rest of his body and restoring the power, then pushing it far enough that it can cancel a target's Quirk Factor for good.

His equipment carries the load. The cybernetic right eye scans and identifies targets and can trigger his other prosthetics when he cannot do it himself. The prosthetic right arm converts into a handgun fed by a magazine he can reload, hides a grappling hook under the wrist for reaching and rescuing people, and carries a screen for controlling his motorcycle. The prosthetic left leg appears to hold a jet booster in the sole, though it only ever fired while he was unconscious, so its normal use is unclear. He used a sniper rifle on Ginji Kurau from range before stowing it in a compartment on the bike, and carried a snub-nosed revolver loaded with non-lethal shock rounds. The armored motorcycle is his main transport and a fighting platform, remotely controllable enough to right itself, throw off its armor, or drive riderless if separated from him, with a mount on the trunk for the rifle. The bike was wrecked not long before he and Izuku went after Dark Might. A pouch on his belt holds tools for field repairs to the prosthetics.
