Hiroshi Tameda

Character

One ordinary Endeavor fan shouted at a live camera and accidentally changed how a nation saw its number one hero. Hiroshi Tameda has no Quirk worth noting and no role in any battle, yet the series keeps cutting back to him, because he is the public that heroes are supposedly saving.

Appearance

Height and build put him squarely in the middle of any crowd, which suits a character built to represent one. Spiky pink hair and oversized brown eyes are the only things that stand out, and the overall look runs close enough to Kosei Tsuburaba of Class 1-B that the resemblance gets noticed.

Personality

Hiroshi worships Endeavor, specifically the version who claws upward without caring what the popularity rankings say. That devotion is rigid enough that a change in the man rattles him, and the sight of Endeavor behaving warmly sent him into an outright panic over his hero acting nothing like himself.

Loyalty is the stronger instinct, though. When the public wavered, he was the one insisting out loud that Endeavor still deserved their faith for standing between society and monsters like High-End.

History

Hawks is at his side, the two of them cutting across a packed street, when Hiroshi tries to approach Endeavor and loses his nerve. Endeavor comes to him instead, smiling, hand extended, and the gesture is so unlike the man that Hiroshi short-circuits. Later, with the High-End fight underway, he cuts into a reporter's live broadcast and yells at the country to believe in Endeavor. The clip turns him into a nationwide meme.

He watches Dabi's recorded broadcast with a friend and is gutted to learn that his idol beat the eldest of his children and pushed him onto a villain's path. He refuses at first to accept it, or to believe that anyone would abandon heroes over it, until doctored footage frames Hawks as a killer and Dabi reveals Hawks was fathered by a villain Endeavor once arrested. His friend's grim verdict, that between the ruined cities and the accusation the public will lose faith regardless of the truth, leaves Hiroshi covering his eyes. Someone wearing a shirt printed with his own face later watched Endeavor confess to his past at a press conference and concluded the hero should have lied.

Months on, with hero society collapsed and civilians packed into evacuation centers, Hiroshi follows the Final War on a livestream. He is praying when Shoto Todoroki and Tenya Ida race toward Dabi's imminent detonation at Gunga, and he is among the refugees crying out when Shoto swallows the inferno in ice. He watches All Might lose to All For One and be dragged to U.A. to die on camera, praying with the rest of the world until Katsuki Bakugo tears him free. He watches Izuku Midoriya plow through Tomura Shigaraki's wall of fingers and land a smash to the chest, and says out loud how completely Izuku bulldozed it. When the last of the upright heroes are warped in to Mt. Fuji for the finish, he is shouting at the screen for Izuku to give it everything.
