Ibara Shiozaki

What grows from Ibara's scalp is not hair but green vines studded with thorns, and one length of them loops across her forehead several times to form a cross. Her Quirk lets her extend them whenever she likes, though she prefers a workable length that stops a little above her waist. She stands around average height. Her eyes are dark green, the lower lashes long, and Denki Kaminari has called her cute.

Her original Hero Costume was a simple white robe cut like a toga, worn with thigh-high boots in dark brown, and the effect was that of a goddess out of Greece or Rome. She now wears a strapless white dress, pulls the vines back into a ponytail, and adds ornate red earrings.

Modesty comes first with her. When Present Mic labeled her an assassin she corrected him at once, and though she speaks softly and carries herself with grace, she does not hide what she intends. Faith runs through everything: heaven and the divine surface casually in her conversation, and her Ultimate Moves carry names like Faith's Shield and Crucifixion.

The gentleness has an edge under it. During the Joint Training Arc she passed severe judgment on Class 1-A, wished hellfire on Jurota Shishida so that his sins might be burned off him, and called his plan to use her as a decoy sinful.

She was openly grateful when a second chance at the Sports Festival came her way, and before facing Denki she made plain that she meant to spread good across the world. Fairness matters to her more than advantage: she refused Neito Monoma's scheme to tank the Obstacle Race, finishing fourth on her own merit, and she regretted lifting Minoru Mineta's headband with her vines because the method was underhanded. Deceit is her sticking point generally. She told Shihai Kuroiro his tactics demanded a hard look at himself, and she apologized to Gigantomachia for ambushing him during the Paranormal Liberation War.

Ibara is formidable. She placed fourth in the entrance exam at U.A. on a balanced haul of villain and rescue points, and her handling of her Quirk is exceptional enough that Kamui Woods and others have compared it directly to his own Arbor. She fights as a stationary type, holding ground while the vines do the binding, which works until an opponent quick enough, or skilled enough up close, gets inside her reach, as Tenya Ida did. That skill drew the attention of The Lurkers, and interning under that trio, Mt. Lady and Kamui Woods alongside Edgeshot, sharpened her close-range work and team coordination.

Vines, her Quirk, grows the hair-like tendrils from her head. She lengthens them, manipulates them, attacks, blocks and grapples with them, and detaches them at will. They regrow provided her head gets enough sunlight and water.

Her Ultimate Moves build off that. Via Dolorosa carpets an entire area in vines so that anything making contact is caught. Crucifixion balls an opponent up inside a suspended mass of vines to immobilize them, and she used it on Denki because the wrapping insulated him and killed his discharge. Faith's Shield throws up a vine wall in an instant, which she then cuts loose, deployed as her fallback defense against Denki. Big Tree raises a wall to absorb an incoming attack while the roots take hold of the attacker.
