Kazuho Haneyama

Round glasses throw a glare that usually hides Kazuho's blue eyes, and her pink hair sits a shade untidy above a black long-sleeved seifuku, its collar white with red accents, worn with a necktie, socks to the knee and blue sneakers. She reads as timid and forgettable, which is largely the point. Her hair was short enough in childhood that Koichi Haimawari took her for a boy.

Pop☆Step requires paint: a black mask across her eyes, pink along the upper lashes, hair up in high pigtails, and a devil-themed backless leotard in black, opened at the chest in a heart shape with a smaller one behind, below a pair of bat wings. She adds a red bow tie, indigo pearl earrings, black fingerless gloves reaching the elbow, a very short skirt over a belt of purple hearts, and pink-detailed boots to the knee. The anime softens it with stockings, a longer skirt and a smaller opening.

The FeatherHATS add a maroon sleeveless jacket with a long tail and a top hat trimmed in yellow ribbon and one red feather. Her "Kazuha" disguise on a job with Midnight involved a straight black wig, a white blouse, blue beads, a burgundy skirt and black leggings. The time skip adds only height. Queen Bee darkened her skin and villainized the costume, trading devil wings for bee wings, losing the skirt, piling on black makeup, sweeping her hair over one eye. Freed from it, she covers the eye she lost with a patch.

Kazuho thinks for the team. She is the analytical one among the Naruhata Vigilantes, and she loves singing and performing well past what her early skill justified, throwing herself in with real enthusiasm and taking obvious pride in her looks, on stage and off. She once told Koichi she would kill him for calling her civilian clothes plain.

She is secretive to a fault. Her family knew nothing about Narufest, which suggests the street shows and the vigilante nights were news to them too. The fierce streak is real: she cares about her allies and berates them the moment they do something she cannot stand, colliding with Koichi's naivety and Knuckleduster's taste for violence. Koichi compares her trouble apologizing to a child's, and the whole effect lands in tsundere territory. She denies any connection to the vigilantes while feeding them support from the field.

Guilt underwrites it. Koichi saved her once and missed his hero school entrance exam doing it, ending that dream, and she has never managed to thank him or apologize properly, least of all with an audience, because her crush makes the subject unbearable. Watching everyone move on after Narufest left her adrift and afraid of being alone. Music began to give her an outlet, but jealousy toward Makoto Tsukauchi and her own self-loathing left a gap wide enough for Number 6 to talk her into hosting the Queen Bee.

She woke from the coma despondent, though she found the nerve to hand back an All Might hoodie Koichi gave her years earlier, which he failed to recognize, then broke down holding onto him out of relief. A year of rehabilitation brought her around. Cleared of blame for what Bee☆Pop did, she still wants to make amends, and she is genuinely glad Koichi finally became a hero as Captain Celebrity's sidekick, the Skycrawler, while her own life moved forward too.

Leap throws Kazuho very high off solid ground, and soft footing such as mud weakens it. It softens her landing after a jump, but not an ordinary fall. Fighting is not her role. The Quirk carries her to incidents quickly and keeps her out of reach while she works investigations, moves civilians clear, calls for help, distracts villains and patches up bystanders.

Her mind counts for as much. She pointed Koichi and Knuckleduster at the local news feed to trace the Instant Villains outbreak and the Ideo Trigger drug, explained that villain status takes repeated Quirk offenses, and warned Koichi that firing his Shooty-Go-Kablam at people without authorization would get him arrested, which suggests she knows Japanese law well. Her performing improved too, from a street act carried by the Leap and the costume into legitimate work with the FeatherHATS at Narufest. Her microphone doubles as a player and a loudhailer.

Queen Bee possessed her rather than belonged to her, handing her a vast swarm that turned more hostile the longer she sang. Koichi and Endeavor destroyed nearly all of it, and the host bee was cut out of her at the hospital.
