Pamela

She is short, with a rounded face and freckles crowded around a small nose. Long blonde hair falls past her shoulders.

Her eyes are green and unusually large, though the effect is undercut by the scowl she wears almost constantly. The default expression reads as permanent irritation, which is roughly accurate.

Pamela does not like people much, and she does not pretend otherwise. She says what she thinks about anything she finds objectionable, without filtering it for how harsh it lands, and having something arranged on her behalf without being asked is a reliable way to set her off.

That is exactly why Christopher failed to charm her in high school. She read him as a superficial clown and dismissed him accordingly. His refusal to give up on making her laugh eventually pulled out a warmer, more affectionate side, and she fell for him and married him.

The affection survives even at the worst of it. She has patience for his goofy sincerity, and none at all for the womanizing or the grand posturing. She still loves him and insists his heart is in the right place under everything, but she also knows his behavior needs to change, which is precisely why she kept the pregnancy from him.

The two met as students in America, back when Chris's Quirk had made him wildly popular and Pamela was apparently the only classmate unmoved by any of it. Her indifference is what caught his attention, and every attempt he made to get closer was swatted down. Over time she softened, he fell for her smile, and the proposal she accepted turned into a marriage.

It came apart under the weight of scandal, his hunger for attention, and a run of affairs, and Pamela ended up handling the infidelity lawsuits against her own husband. She was carrying their son by the time he left for Japan. Just before he landed there she struck up an online friendship with Makoto Tsukauchi and asked her to watch him and keep the old habits from resurfacing.

That arrangement pays off almost immediately. A check-in call to Makoto during her lunch with Chris catches him mid-excuse, and he abruptly goes off to stop the bank robbery he had been ignoring, then sends his wife photos of himself with Koichi Haimawari to sell the idea that it was all innocent fan service.

After the birth she flew to Japan so he could finally meet their son, satisfied that he had grown out of the worst of himself, and he took a family picture of the three of them to mark it. The goodwill lasted until the send-off thrown for him at the Tokyo Sky Egg. He called her as she was going to bed after settling the baby, let slip that thousands of people had already seen that picture, and she hung up on him. He called back to apologize, and was still apologizing when five Bombers, dispatched by Number 6 to kill him, hit the venue and forced him to drop the line.

A week after the bombing she stormed into his hospital room with their son and started hitting him for what he had risked, injuries and onlookers notwithstanding. Underneath the anger she had been terrified, and she thanked Koichi through tears for keeping her husband alive. Two weeks after that, at the airport, the Marukane crowd came to see the family off. Chris tried to enlist her in explaining away the rumors about his manager and she simply ignored him; Makoto arrived, cleared it up herself, and revealed she had already worked out with Pamela that she would fly back with them to take up a New York college place while staying on as his manager, leaving Chris asking why nobody had told him before they boarded. She is with her husband and son later on, listening with concern as Makoto calls her brother Naomasa about what is happening in Naruhata.
